Equals Validator

This validator can be used to ensure that two values are matching (e.g. password and __confirm_password__).

Supported Options

The Equals validator supports the below option:

• to: determines the element that the field under validation should be matching. It is a required parameter and failing to provide this will result in an InvalidValidatorArguments exception.

Usage

There are two different ways in which all Sparta validators can be used. See below examples for more explanations:

Example #1

You can simply instantiate the Equals validator and pass to it the data that you want to validate.

//Assuming that we have two variables called 
//$password and $passwordConfirm
$validator = Equals(['to' => $passwordConfirm ]);

if(!$validator->isValid($password)){ 
    //handle errors
}

Example #2

You can build your validation rules and pass it to the Validation object to handle as shown below:

use Sparta\Validation;

$rules = [
    'password' => 'equals:to=passwordConfirm',
];

//Assuming that your $data has two elements "password"
//and "confirmPassword"

$validation = new Validation($data, $rules);
if(!$validation->isValid()){
    //handle errors
}

In case of validation failure, error messages can be retrieved using the getErrors method.

Note: You can even write the rule in a shorter format as follows:
